About Vedic Center

Vedic Center is located on Bethel Drive in Mauldin (Greenville), South Carolina. The temple contains images of Lord Venkateshwara, Lord Ganesha, Sri Rama, Laxman, Sita devi, Veer Hanuman, Sri Krishna, Radha, Durga Devi and Swami Mahavir. All the murthies are sculpted in marble. It also has a Shiva Linga.

All the images (Murthies) are brightly decorated and placed on pedestals.

The dream of building a Hindu Temple in Greenville was envisioned in 1983. It finally became a reality in the year 1994. The Murthi Sthapana Mahotsava (Foundation Stone laying ceremony) was conducted during May 20 through May 22, 1994. Mr. Manhar P Rama was the President and Chairman of the Murthi Sthapana Committee.
A commemorative souvenir was published on this occasion.

FULFILLMENT OF A DREAM

Our Temple has come to symbolize the commitment, dedication and hard work of many individuals and Families in greater Greenville area, including surrounding cities and States. Contribution made by these individuals and families will be recognized silently with feeling of gratitude in the mind of everyone who enters the Temple hall. But more importantly, no names shall be missed in the BOOKS of THE GOD.

Whatever accomplished is just a beginning. We all shall play active roles and shoulder important responsibilities to continue to sustain, nurture, share and promote our Hindu religious faith.

Here is a pictorial story of how it all started...

Vedic Center in the News

There was an article in the "The Greenville News" in its May 4 (1999) edition, about the Vedic Center. The article was the third of a five-part series of articles on diversity of faiths in the Upstate, by Tilly Lavenas.
